Importantce of Paste Layer for THT Pads on USB-C Connectors | ๐งจ Engineering Schematic Solutions
Intro
USB-C become most popular universal port, so important so properly design footprint for good mechanical stability after soldering.
๐บ Issue Description
Despite on most USB-C connector has THT pins for bottom Wave Soldering it's not enough for good mechanical stability. You can solder each pins manually using soldering iron and carefully heat it, but in real production it's unacceptable.

One of the connectors has bad soldering so I can even move it. It partially works but when move contact can lost + PD protocol working only in one position.

๐ง Issue Fix
Just add (enable) solder paste layer for THT pads (it's often missed in EasyEDA footprints).
So after soldering in oven solder paste on top layer:
โ Fixed
JLCPCB doesn't provide Solder Paste layer for confirmation, so I recommend to previously ask them to fix actual footprint. Other manufacturers will follow your solder paste layer gerber file, so paste on THT pads will be appled.
