Quiescent Current of Addressable LED WS2812 Measurement
Intro
Since Chinese datasheet of addressable LED WS2812 doesn't clearly specify such important parameter like quiescent current (idle current, static power), let's measure it ๐.

Nevertheless another clone XL-5050RGBC-WS2812B-S has specified static power consumption value (0.6mA):

๐ฌ Test
In this experiment I used original WS2812B-B/Tin 5050 package from Worldsemi.
Voltage measured almost at LED power pins.ย DIN โ Not Connected (floating).
As a result, at VCC=5.035V voltage the static current is Iq=577.3uA (without any light).

Conclusions
- Measured quiescent current at VCC=5V is Iq=577.3 uA, which corresponds to the value from datasheet Istatic=600 uA (0.6mA)
- Tip: never connect addressable LED directly do the battery (without switch) to prevent significant power consumption during sleep mode
